Telescopic Trekking Pole & Walking Stick
One pole, adjusted to you, that turns a wobbly step into a planted one
A third point of contact changes how a slope feels. Going up, you push. Coming down, the pole takes the load your knee would otherwise catch. On flat ground it is simply something steady to lean into.
Each pole is sold individually, in your choice of two grips and four colors, and you can add two to your cart for a matched pair. It is an aluminum-alloy shaft that telescopes to your height, locks with a twist, and collapses small enough to travel.
Choose your grip first. It is the real decision on this page.
The two options in the dropdown are two different walking sticks, and the grip is what sets them apart.
4-Section T-Handle
A molded cane-style head you rest your palm on top of, with a webbing wrist strap and a short foam grip on the shaft below it. Four telescoping sections, twist-lock collars, rubber tip cap fitted.
Pick this for sidewalks, parks, town walking and steady everyday support, anywhere your hand wants to press down rather than push back.
5-Section Folding
A slim upright grip you wrap your fingers around, with a nylon wrist strap. Five sections: the lower ones break apart and fold flat against each other on an internal steel cable, and the upper one telescopes for height.
Pick this for trails, travel and anything with a pack. It is the one that packs down short.

The 5-Section Folding Pole
Long enough to walk with. Short enough to stop carrying.
Folded, it is about the length of your forearm. That is the whole argument for this style: when the trail flattens out or you reach the car, the pole stops being something you have to hold and becomes something that fits inside a daypack.
The shaft carries a printed height scale in centimeters, so once you find the number that suits you, you set it to the same mark every time instead of guessing.
Lengths shown are for the 5-Section Folding Pole. The 4-Section T-Handle adjusts with twist-lock collars to suit your height.
Setting the height
Do this once, standing on flat ground in the shoes you actually walk in, and note the mark on the shaft.
Stand tall
Feet flat, shoulders down, arm hanging loose by your side.
Bend the elbow
Bring your forearm up until it is level with the ground, a right angle at the elbow.
Extend to meet it
Twist the collar loose, slide the shaft until the grip sits in your hand at that height, twist it firm again.
Read the mark
Note the centimeter number showing at the collar. That is your setting for every walk afterwards.
Going uphill, shorten it a little; coming downhill, lengthen it. The elbow is the guide either way. Twist each collar firm and the sections hold your height all day.
What it does for your legs
Save your knees on the way down
This is an anti-shock pole, designed to reduce impact on your hands, wrists, knees and ankles on long treks and steep descents.
The mechanics are simple: a pole planted ahead of you carries part of your body weight through your arm and into the ground instead of through the leg that is about to land. On a descent, that is where you feel the difference.

Who it is for
Made for every kind of walk
- Everyday walkers and older adults. The T-Handle gives your palm a broad, natural place to press down, for steady support on sidewalks, parks and uneven paths.
- Hikers and campers. The folding pole shares the load on climbs and descents, then packs down to 14.1 in when the trail flattens out.
- Nordic fitness walkers. A light aluminum shaft with a padded grip and wrist strap that swings easily all day.
- Travelers. Steady on cobblestones, gravel and the hills of old towns, and small enough to slip into a suitcase.
What you get
Questions worth asking
How many poles do I get?
Each pole is sold individually, so one order is one pole. Add two to your cart for one in each hand.
What is the actual difference between the two options?
The grip and how it collapses. The 4-Section T-Handle has a cane-style head you press down on and telescopes into itself. The 5-Section Folding has a straight upright grip and its lower sections fold flat against each other on an internal cable, which is why it packs shorter.
How short does it get?
The 5-Section Folding Pole packs down to 14.1 in (36 cm), roughly forearm length, so it slips into a daypack. The 4-Section T-Handle telescopes down into itself for easy carrying.
Will it be long enough for me?
The folding pole extends to 51.1 in (130 cm), which suits most adult walkers. Use the elbow test above: the grip sits where your forearm is level with the ground.
Does the height scale read in inches?
The numbers printed on the shaft are centimeters, and the conversions on this page save you the arithmetic at the trailhead.
How does it handle rocky and muddy trails?
Very well. The pointed tip with its rubber cap bites into dirt, gravel and rock, and buyers describe it as grippy on rock and steady on wet roots and mud.
Is it good for an older walker?
Yes. Many people use it exactly that way, and the T-Handle grip is the natural choice: rest your palm on top and press down for steady support on sidewalks, parks and uneven paths.
Can I travel with it?
Yes. Folded to 14.1 in (36 cm), the 5-Section pole slips into a daypack, a suitcase or a checked bag with room to spare.
Pick the grip, pick the color, set it once.
