Oil film cleaning brush · with refill · for car glass

Scrub off the film your wipers keep smearing.

A handheld windshield cleaner that carries its own cleaning liquid. Fill the brush, press its sponge pad to wet glass and scrub. It lifts the thin greasy film that washer fluid and wipers just spread around, the film that turns into a smeary haze under oncoming headlights.

You get the brush and a refill bottle of the cleaning liquid. It works on the outside of your windshield, side windows, rear window and side mirrors.

Why glass still looks dirty

Clean is not the same as clear.

Road grime, exhaust, tree sap, wax runoff from car washes and worn wiper rubber leave an oily layer bonded to the glass. A spray glass cleaner or a pass of the wipers moves it around rather than taking it off, so the windshield looks clean in the garage and streaks the moment it rains.

This brush works that layer off by hand. The liquid sits in the brush body and feeds the white sponge pad as you press, so you scrub with one hand and never juggle a bottle and a cloth.

Three steps

Rinse, scrub, rinse.

Rinse

Hose or wash the glass so it is wet and free of grit. Work on cool glass, out of direct sun.

Scrub

Open the lid marked OPEN, pour in some of the refill liquid and close it. Press the pad flat to the glass and scrub in overlapping passes.

Rinse again

Rinse the glass with plenty of clean water and dry or squeegee it. Repeat on any patch that still smears.

Not just the windshield

Mirrors and side glass too.

The pad is small enough to work a side mirror and the corners of a rear window, where a towel bunches up. Use it on the outside of the glass after a wash, or whenever the wipers start leaving streaks.

It cleans; it does not coat. If you want water to bead and roll off, apply a rain-repellent product afterwards, on the clean, film-free glass this leaves behind.

Handle it with care

A cleaning liquid, so treat it like one.

  • Eyes. Avoid contact with eyes. If liquid gets in them, rinse with plenty of clean water.
  • Skin. Wash your hands after use; wear gloves if your skin is sensitive.
  • Glass only. Keep the liquid on the glass and rinse off any that runs onto paint or trim.
  • Storage. Close the lid and the bottle cap after use, do not swallow, and keep both out of reach of children and pets.
