Mini multi tool · folding survival knife

A whole tool kit that folds to the size of a car key.

This is a flat, folding pocket multi-tool in stonewashed stainless steel. Closed, it is about 3.5 x 1.3 inches and clips onto your keys. Open, it swings out into one straight tool about 7.75 inches long, with a small folding blade at the end.

It is a flat card-style tool, not a pliers multi-tool. There are no pliers or scissors. What you get is a short blade plus wrenches, screwdriver tips, a bottle opener and a handful of small fixes, all cut into two steel plates.

Carry

Lives on your key ring.

A small wire clip at one end hooks onto a key ring, a belt loop or a bag strap. Folded, it is about as long as a house key, so it rides in a jeans pocket or a wallet zip pocket without getting in the way.

The blade

A small folding knife for small jobs.

The blade swings out by hand on its own pivot: a short clip-point edge with a serrated section near the pivot. It is sized for opening boxes and bags, cutting cord and line, trimming tags and shaving kindling at camp. It is not a large fixed-blade knife, and it is not sold as one.

Two hands use the tool's small folding blade to shave a curl of wood from a dry stick at a campsite

Quick fixes

Wrench sizes where you need them.

Hex cut-outs for 7, 8, 10 and 13 mm nuts, smaller hex openings, spoke-wrench notches, a Phillips tip and a flat tip, plus a removable hex bit that sits in its own slot. Good for a loose bike rack, a wobbly chair leg or a camp-stove bolt.

What is on it

The real tool list.

The "30-in-1" count includes each wrench size and notch separately. Here is what those 30 functions come down to:

Three moves.

Unfold

Swing the two plates apart on the pivot until they sit end to end.

Worth knowing before you buy

The honest small print.

  • No pliers, no scissors, no can opener. It is a flat tool; the bottle opener is the only opener.
  • It has a blade. Keep it out of carry-on bags when you fly, and check your local knife rules before you carry it.
  • Close the blade before you fold the plates. Fold it the same way every time and your fingers stay clear of the edge.
  • Metric wrench sizes. The wrench cut-outs are sized in millimeters, not fractions of an inch.
  • Not a toy. Keep it away from children.
  • Dry it after it gets wet. Stainless steel resists rust, but wiping it dry keeps the pivots turning smoothly.
