Quicker feet, sharper cuts and steadier balance, a few sessions a week

Drop it on the grass, the turf or the gym floor, run ten minutes of in-and-outs, lateral shuffles and hops before practice, and the first step gets quicker. Soccer, football, basketball, rugby, a HIIT session in the garage: footwork is the skill under every one of them, and this is the simplest way to train it.

The frustration with most agility ladders is the bag. Webbing straps with loose plastic rungs come out in a knot, the rungs slide out of line, and the first five minutes of every session go on untangling instead of training. This one lands flat and straight the moment you drop it, every time.

Why it stays straight: the ladder is a chain of identical square frames, hinged together at every rung. Each frame is a springy rod that returns to shape on its own, with a padded polyester sleeve stitched over it for the rung. Drop it and it opens itself; pick it up and it folds down on itself.

Because the squares pivot where they meet, the same chain lies flat as a ladder, folds up into hurdles, or closes into a ring. One piece of kit covers three drills.

Flat at the front, folded up into a hurdle behind: the same chain, rearranged in seconds.

One ladder, three workouts

Lay it flat for quick-feet work. Fold pairs of squares upward and they stand on their own as hurdles for hops, bounds and single-leg landings. Bring the ends together and you have a ring for reaction drills and cutting work in a small space. The layout keeps your feet landing clean in every box, which is how rhythm, reaction time and change of direction get built.

Flat: ladderLay the whole chain out straight for in-and-outs, lateral shuffles, Icky shuffles and quick-feet ladder work.
Folded: hurdlesPivot pairs of squares upward into self-standing A-frames for hops, bounds and single-leg landings.
Closed: ringBring the ends together into a ring for reaction drills, cutting work and small-space conditioning.
Mixed: circuitRun flat squares into a hurdle and back again, so one lane trains footwork and jump height in the same pass.

The theme in the reviews is the one you buy a ladder for: faster feet, and a ladder that behaves.

  • “The ladder lays flat and doesn’t slide around during drills, which is a huge plus. I’ve already noticed improvement in my coordination after a couple weeks.” David A.
  • “I use it for quick workouts in my backyard and it’s helped my foot speed a lot.” Michael O.
  • “I bought this for my teenage son’s soccer training and he absolutely loves it. It sets up fast and packs away easily when we’re done.” Jessica V.
  • “I’ve used other agility ladders before and this one feels more durable. It stays flat.” Nicole O.
  • “I use this for basketball training and it’s been a great addition.” Justin O.
  • “Definitely worth the price for regular training.” Taylor Z.

Built for adult feet

Each square measures 16.54 x 16.54 in (42 x 42 cm) on the outside, a full adult stride box: plant both feet inside a square side by side and you still have room to step out clean. Cheap webbing sets give you a narrow grid sized for children; this one gives you room to move the way you move in a game. The padded rungs sit barely higher than the sole of your shoe, so a clipped rung is a nudge rather than a trip.

Packs into a kit bag in one motion

Twist the squares down on each other and the whole chain collapses into one flat stack that drops into a kit bag or stands behind a door. Pick it up folded, drop it open: setup and pack-down each take seconds. It holds its shape while you train instead of bunching underfoot, on grass, gym floors, courts or concrete.

Who gets the most out of it

  • Soccer, football, basketball and rugby players working first-step speed and change of direction.
  • Coaches running team drills who want one piece of kit to cover ladder work and hurdles.
  • Home trainers adding footwork and conditioning to a HIIT or cardio session in a small space.
  • Parents setting up backyard drills: the squares are big enough for adults and forgiving for kids.

Out of the bag and laid straight in one motion: it holds the line instead of snaking.

In the box: 1 x Agility Training Ladder, ready to use.
Care: shake off grass and grit, wipe the rungs with a damp cloth and let them dry before folding.
Good to know: rung spacing is set by the hinged squares, so every box is the same size, every session.

Faster feet for $44.99. Add the Agility Training Ladder to your cart and run your first drill the day it arrives.
