Pass a soft shackle through the centre, anchor it, and lay the winch line in the groove around the edge. That is the whole rig: one solid part with nothing to open, and a smooth groove that lets the rope run free.

How it works

Soft shackle through the middle. Rope around the edge.

Run your winch rope out to the ring, around its rounded groove and back to a recovery point on your vehicle. That double-line pull lets the winch pull with close to twice its single-line force, at half the line speed.

Or anchor the ring off to one side to change the direction of the pull when the stuck vehicle and the only good anchor sit in different directions.
