Pack for the whole ride

A throw-over pair of frameless motorcycle saddlebags that expands from 36 to 58 liters: a left bag and a right bag joined by a soft, padded bridge. The bridge lies across your passenger seat, one bag hangs down each side and an installation strap holds the set in place, so there is no frame, rack or drilling. It goes on in minutes, then comes off and carries like luggage by the grab handle on each bag.

Together they hold 36 liters closed. Open the expansion zip on each bag and the pair grows to 58 liters: room for rain gear, a spare layer, tools and everything you would otherwise stuff in a backpack.

What you get

  • Two saddlebags, left and right, joined by the padded bridge.
  • One installation strap to hold the bridge to your passenger seat.

Everything you need to mount them is in the box.

How much it holds

Each bag holds about 18 liters zipped in and about 29 liters expanded, so the pair runs from 36 to 58 liters (roughly 2,200 to 3,500 cubic inches). Each bag opens from a zipped top lid and has a mesh pocket with a flap on its end for the small things you want to reach fast.

Our supplier rates one expanded bag for most helmets, so an open bag doubles as helmet storage when you park. Pack soft gear and keep each side near 6.6 lb (3 kg) and the bags hold their shape.

Fits most bikes with a passenger seat

Throw-over saddlebags suit standards, cruisers, sport-tourers and many naked bikes. Three quick checks give you a clean fit:

  • A passenger seat to strap over. The bridge lies across it and the strap holds it there.
  • Clearance from the exhaust. Hang the bags clear of the muffler and pipes. Bikes with a high-mounted or under-seat exhaust add a heat shield and stay cool.
  • Clearance from moving parts. Each bag hangs clear of the rear tire, the shock and the turn signals with the straps snug.

Frameless bags settle against the side of the bike, so snug the straps on the first ride and check them again after the first few miles.

On in minutes

  • Lay the bridge across the passenger seat so one bag hangs on each side, level with each other.
  • Fit the installation strap. On most bikes you lift off the passenger seat, run the strap around it, buckle it to the bridge and refit the seat.
  • Pull everything snug. Tighten until the bags hold steady when you push them, then check the exhaust and tire clearance.

Built to keep up on the road

Weather-resistant fabric. The Oxford-cloth body and molded semi-rigid side panels shed road spray and passing showers. On long wet rides, slip clothes and electronics into a dry bag inside.

Soft bags, easy loads. Balance the two sides, put the heavier things low and close to the bike, and the pair keeps its shape mile after mile.
